ERGONOMICS study for arva avalanche shovel
REQEST
Arva, the pioneering avalanche rescue equipment company, asked us to replace an aging product in their range: their most sophisticated model, the AX excavator. at the same time attractive, ergonomic and meeting the requirements of their supplier.
METHOD
To best meet ergonomic needs, especially for the handle, we favored a physical mock-up approach very early in the creation process, with our mock-up partner V&CO. We then focused on the production of a parametric 3D model, integrating the various manufacturing constraints relating to the manufacturing processes used.Our added value here was real industrial support, in close collaboration with the Arva teams, which we got involved very early in the course of our study.
RESULTS
This new excavator, in addition to meeting all the requirements for resistance, safety and ergonomics, has enabled Arva to obtain better visibility, by offering a more attractive and easily readable product in a highly standardized market.
