two practices, one cebe helmet
REQUEST
In order to support the safety of practitioners in all areas of winter sports, Cébé asked Kairn to design a helmet suitable for ski touring / ski mountaineering. With this in mind, the helmet had to meet ski and climbing / mountaineering standards, and its ventilation had to be optimal and adaptable.
METHOD
For this new high-innovation project with Cébé, we brought together several players (engineers, product manager, industrial designers), as part of a creative workshop, in order to offer an innovative ventilation solution, based on two hulls articulated around 'a pivot. We then sized the different parts needed, and collaborated with the R&D unit of the brand's supplier, to offer a visibly new result while remaining secure.
RESULTS
The studio is very proud to have participated in the creation of the first bi-standard articulated helmet adapted to this demanding practice of the mountain. This project also made it possible to ask many questions of handling / ergonomics, and the perception of a technology, of an innovative use. This approach was rewarded by obtaining an ISPO award, as "product of the year" in the snowsports equipment category.

create the product launch video
REQUEST
As part of the launch of this helmet during ISPO 2020, Cébé also entrusted us with the production of the product presentation video. Their desire was to mix animated images and action rushes filmed in the mountains. The Kairn team volunteered in all aspects of the project.
ACTION CAPTURE
We called on a specialist in steep slope skiing, Boris Pivaudran, to serve as a model for a day in the mountains, and to film the ascent and descent, via a steep and cramped couloir, of a summit known to the people of Grenoble. : the great colonist. We were joined by Pierre Grambert from outdoor-picture, called in for the shoot.
ANIMATION & FINAL EDITING
We embellished these images in situ with animation sequences. We did them from reworking the 3D / texturing models, to post-production processing, including the definition of motion design via storyboard. For the final cut, we chose to give a rhythmic, tense, stressful tone to the video, with a fast set of shots and frenzied percussions.
