DESIGNING THE IDENTITY AND PRODUCTS OF A NEW BIKE BRAKES BRAND

 
 

We have worked with BONTAZ Mobility to enter the bike components market, within the bicycle industry in Europe. BONTAZ has a strong industrial heritage, based in France. Obviously, the local manufacturing and unique know-how from the automotive industry was the guideline. Kairn Bike Design Lab has been involved in the creation of a strong and unique design language of the whole product range, and took care of the 3D development.

TECHNICAL PACKAGE (RE)DEFINITION

We delivered our bicycle expertise, from the benchmark and market analysis. By observing the trends and existing brands, we helped BONTAZ Mobility to position the product offer, and define the best design strategy.

By exchanging with BONTAZ R&D, we also have challenged the technical package, in order to challenge the technical constraints, and get the best balance between compacity, design and braking performance.

 


 
 
 
 

DESIGN OF A NEW FAMILY OF PRODUCTS

The main challenge for the product design was to take in consideration the manufacturing constraints (forging & machining), by making these products recognizable with a strong brand signature. The surfaces of the master cylinder has been drawn to express robustness, precision and performance, for the urban & offroad market.

 
 
 
 

DESIGNED FOR THE FRENCH MANUFACTURING

The surface CAD modelling phase allowed to deliver the first prototypes, to showcase the concept in a very short terms. The design of the caliper offered 2 versions, with 2 and 4 pistons options, with forging and machining manufacturing processes. Our mission was also to update the design step by step, and adapt it to the last technical evolutions. Kairn Bike Design Lab also managed the remodeling with a parametric software, to make the industrialisation phase easier.

 
 
 

impactful DIGITAL CONTENT CREATION

Kairn Bike Design Lab has been comissioned to create all the digital imaging for the release of the products. We created some 3D animations and impactful packshot images for the website.

Our Digital services allowed to strenghten the digital strategy of the brand, and showcase the technology of BONTAZ Brakes.
