Design and development of a new electric mountain bike
Design of a new e-bike platform.
Our Bike Design Lab was asked to help the North American brand Aventon enter the e-MTB market by drawing on our expertise.
The goal was to create a suspension system that is simple yet effective, easy to adjust, and suitable for both beginners and more experienced riders.
We recommended a 4-bar linkage mechanism for its adaptability and ability to allow for fine-tuning.
Development of a hybrid frame.
The 800Wh battery and the shock absorber under the top tube have been integrated into the front triangle, while maintaining very dynamic and fluid proportions and lines.
Thanks to its hybrid aluminum and carbon construction, the frame’s production costs have been optimized to the fullest extent possible. We developed the complete frame using two 3D modeling methods, while ensuring artistic direction and design consistency across all four frame sizes.
In-bike interface design.
The display hardware was designed to integrate seamlessly into the top tube of the frame.
We also developed the built-in display interface to provide a comprehensive and immersive user experience. The UI/UX design was crafted to ensure an extremely intuitive experience while mountain biking, featuring a wireframe and features optimized for practical use and maximum readability.
Acclaimed by the international press.
Early tests and feedback from influencers and journalists are unanimous: the bike performs exceptionally well, offering a smooth ride that’s both comfortable and fun, all at a very competitive price.
« Aventon has proved that really great eMTBs are possible, and premium for a price that doesn’t rival a decent moto. »
« The Aventon Current eMTB offers serious performance at half the price »
