Artistic Direction & R&D Support for a New Brand of Bicycle Brakes
Design of a new product family.
The challenge of this product design project was to take manufacturing constraints (forging and machining) into account, while ensuring that the products and the brand’s signature were recognizable at a glance.
The design of the master cylinder's surfaces is intended to convey ruggedness, precision, and performance, while also appealing to both urban and off-road markets.
Designed for French industrial tools.
The 3D surface modeling phase made it possible to produce the first prototypes of the concept very quickly. The caliper design was then adapted into two- and four-piston versions, as well as machined aluminum and forged versions, each with different manufacturing constraints.
Our mission was to refine and adapt the design as R&D progressed and based on feedback from the blacksmith. Kairn also supported the Bontaz teams during the parametric remodeling and industrialization phases.

Kairn Digital Lab was also commissioned to create striking and realistic visual content—including product shots and 3D animation—for the brand's website.
